Fly Fishing Wyoming

I’m from Texan going to be fishing in Wyoming?
Im going to Wyoming for my summer this year and dont know anything but Bass Fishing! Should i just chill and become a live bait fisherman and fill my summer that way, or should i really try to fish for other things, and maybe learn to pick up a fly rod. Will i actually enjoy this and actually learn how to fish for a fish ive never seen before, I barely even know what kind of fish they got up there. Any tips and every tip about anything and everything would be appreciated!
Wyoming has some great streams and rivers you can fish, plus some nice lakes. I would suggest you contact a fly club or fly shop in Texas and take a couple of hours of basic casting lessons and learn to fly fish. Below are some fly clubs, if one of them is any where near you, give them a call. As for a rod and reel and line, there are some places that sell a starter outfit for a reasonable amount of money. Give Fly Fishing a try, you will like it.
Another choice is what we call Selective Gear Rules up here in Washington State. That is where you can fish waters with either using barbless flies or a spinning outfit rigged with a single barbless hook. That way you can release the fish that you don’t want to keep, and the fish will live to be caught again some other day.
Texas has a number of great fly clubs. If you live near any of them, give them a call and see about obtaining some basic instruction in fly fishing.
