Electric fishing cable through the wall to the porch – questions …?
Hi, In the house we live in, I have a new porch that doesn'tt has outlets. What did I have is a vent of the boiler room located on the other side of the wall. This is a short fan, and once in the boiler room, is only a few feet to an electrical outlet. Since I'm renting the place, I imagine the non-invasive way to get electricity to the terrace is to feed an extension cord through the vent. One problem is that I put a screen on the vent because otherwise moths and bees flying around the house. How I can install the extension cord through the screen and cover the screen so you can stay free inside mistakes? thanks a lot
To seal the screen to be penetrated by the cable, plug, cut in one corner of the screen to get the snap right through the screen and pull with care of an appropriate amount of wire through the hole. Use caulk around the perimeter of the bone and more on each side of the access slot plug. Secure the cable side of the screen porch to keep the cable from moving on the screen and make the caulking fail and / or larger hole. (No as caulking, try using duct tape about cutting the screen and around the bone, the two parties if they have access.) O-If you placed a screen in the vent, is there any way you can remove screen and re-install after running the cord through it? You may need to putty or tape around the screen to keep out insects. Caution: Anywhere extension cable sharp edges closer to vent, if metal conduit, try to bend the conduit for cord not be cut by a sharp edge. Also apply a significant amount of tape on the actual or potential rub points.
