Fishing Fresno
Fishing Places at Salton Sea, CA?
I want to go there to fish for tilapia & maybe other stuff – but I have never been there. Can anyone point out where is a good place to fish? I will be coming from the North; so preferably some part on the northern side? Either that or if a place is very good I’d be willing to make the trip further down.

that is a long drive for a dead lake. I am not even sure there are any fish left in it. I haven’t heard one word about it in thirty years other than it turned over a while back and stunk up the coachella valley for eight months. Lake Santa Margarita just north of San Luis Obispo is way closer and hugely populated with lots of fish it gets a little pressure but not much. And the wildlife around the lake at dusk is breathtaking. Seriously it’s the difference of a ghost town (at the salton sea the closest grocery store is forty miles away) and Disneyland. Not to mention Nacimiento and San Antonio lakes which are both closer to you by four hours…..
