Spitfire and Pursuit will both hit Catalina when there’re enough passengers. 17 is the magic number for Spitfire and I can’t recall the number for Pursuit. Native Sun is a good boat but I just prefer Catalina that’s all. I’ve never been on Sport King and Patriot. I could only say I’ve heard some nice things about those boats but I lacked personal knowledge to make any comments.
Pursuit did very well lately at the island. As a result, it could be very packed during weekends. Once there are enough lines and the water surface looked like a giant spider web, things will suck even if the bites are wide open. Spitfire is pretty consistent and it probably won’t be as packed as Pursuit on weekends.
It is not fair to say which moo moo boat is the best because all boats have their good days and bad days. All boats you mentioned will try to put you on fish but there’s no guarantee fish will bite. Most deckhands will do their best to help you so they could earn their tips. Of course there’re deckhands who will ignore you and fish VERY hard just to make the fish count look good. And there are captains who simply don’t care as long as they’re enough suckers to jump on their boats. Fortunately, you won’t run into this kind of problem on the boats you mentioned. I could only say that I prefer Pursuit during weekdays and Spitfire on weekends.
By the way, I left out the names of the landings because you’re comparing boats instead of landings. I feel mentioning the names of the landings won’t be too fair.
