Kids Fishing Pole Launcher
How have you impressed your kids lately–whether you deserved it or not?
Today we took our kids fishing at a local park. Two of the Fishing Poles were broken (those rocket fishing launchers are junk), but our trusty Spiderman pole was working just fine. My husband isn’t much of a fisherman, so the fish catching was up to me. With the help of my nine year old and five year old, I managed to reel in TWO fish! One was a whopping five inches long!
So all evening long I’ve been Mom of the Year. The kids are so impressed with me, and I’m secretly cracking up because…well, those fish were teeny!
What have you done to amaze your kids?
Well last weekend he was not feeling good. So I decided that I would make him chicken soup for dinner. I told him that after I got him his breakfast, and he smiled and said “thanks daddy, I luv you” And then he snuggled down for a nap. (he is 9) (its amazing but I guess most boys return to a toddler when they get sick, my nephew and a friends boys do it too) So I set out to make homemade chicken noodle soup. I had a whole chicken in the freezer so I used that and lots of veges, but no celery as we both don’t like it. It turned out really good and when he got it and his crackers he said it was really good and what brand was it. I told him I made it from by hand from scratch just for him so he would feel better. He actually teared up. He told me no one ever made him real soup before and gave me a huge hug. It was all I could do not to tear up with him. I told him that I wanted him healthy and that I made a big pot of it and will freeze some for when he gets sick next time. After dinner he wanted to snuggle up and watch Harry Potter again, so after I got his blankie for him he snuggled up and watched the movie with me. He was sound asleep by the end so I changed him and then put him to bed. He is up and doing fine today. So I think the soup helped.
