Ice Fishing Bluegills Bait
Help Minnesota ice fishing?
I need help, im going on a fishing trip in Minnesota. What are some good bait / lours / technic for northern pike , walleye, bass, trout, and Pan-fish?( Bluegill, Sunfish, Crappy)
I think most of the folks you will be fishing with and around on the ice in Minnesota are going to be using mostly live bait in the form of shiner minnows and chubs or suckers for the bigger fish with very small minnows for crappie. I would fish these on lead-headed jigs in appropriate sizes and colors. The bluegill and other sunfish will almost always respond to bits of nightcrawler, small leaches, or meal/grub worms. Use even smaller jig heads for these small-mouthed fish. I would stop in ANY bait and tackle shop near your fishing area and ask them what’s hot and what’s not. They know the current action and trends more than anybody. Trust their judgment. They are the professionals. Good luck and good fishing.
