Freshwater Fishing Tampa Florida

What should I use to catch fish in the Withlacoochee River? Im on the Georgia/Florida border.?
Im heading up to my Father in law’s property with my wife this weekend.
I’ll be trying to fish the Withlacoochee river thats along his property line. I just need to know what type of fish are in there and what techniques and lures’ to use. I’ve been born and raised on Tampa Bay and the Gulf. NO CLUE about freshwater. But I really wanna get into this.
Crappie jigs. Works like a charm, much better than worms or most of the stuff you find on the shelves. You get a pack of crappie jigs, either white or bright green, and I would recommend using some slip-shot weights to give you some extra casting distance.
I’m from tampa bay, myself (st. pete), and I’ve thrown a lot of money at different lures over the years with varied success. Crappie jigs perform great and their cheap. Very cheap.
The only downside I’ve found with them is that big bass can occasionally break the hook. It doesn’t happen often, but it’s a terrible experience when you don’t land a large one because of a broken hook. Still, a couple of caught fish and 1 missed fish is better than no fish at all.
