Camping and trekking in the Rocky Mountains?

Therefore, I am a male 14 years old and lives in 'm Colorado.I very physical and always I wanted to go backpacking in our mountains tail. Before saying anything, I AM NOT GOIN SOLO XD. I'll have some adults and some llamas to transport the material. Now here's a couple of my questions. 1. What kind of knife and gear should I bring with me? 2. Is it even legal to camp anywhere you want, when backpacking? 3. If you make a nice fire pit, is it legal to make a fire? 4. Should I bring a fishing rod and tackle to fish? Joe R more or less summed it up. I will say that the legality of the creation of a campsite at any place you want is questionable and varies if you are in USFS, NPS, BLM, ColState or property. What you have to do is to check first if you plan your route. The Park Service will have a set of rules, the Forest Service will another. As for the fires. Skip all together.
