Fishing Pleasant Bay

How to catch weakfish in the Bay?
I was planning to fish along the NJ coast either Barnegat Bay or Point Pleasant. Whats the best time, bait, presentation, tides etc.?
Weakfish and Spec Trout are best pursued during low light conditions such as early morning or late evening.
Bait- Grass Shrimp, Live American Shrimp, Finger Mullet, Live Menhaden/Pogy, any 4-6″ Pin-fish.
Popping corks work well in most cases, (or a slip-bobber rig).
Lures- 1/8-1/4 OZ jigs rigged with 3-4″ Plastic curly-tailed Grub bodys, Sluggo-type lures(rigged Texas-Style), Senkos, TOP-WATER baits that mimic Menhaden/Finger Mullet, ETC.(I like Berkley GULP products for most soft-plastic fishing.)
Tides- Look for bait-schools flooding into creeks. ALWAYS fish a moving tide, near creeks with steep channels. Bends in Rivers/creeks can be productive.
Where you catch 1 Weakfish you will catch more; they generally travel in schools of 3-5.
Hope this helps ya somehow? Good fishing!
