Fishing Buffalo Bayou

where should i release my freshwater fish?
if i am having to change my tank set up, what is an good place to release my freshwater fish so they won’t die? would the buffalo bayou be suitable?
nevermind, i absolutely get what you all are saying. the reason i was asking is because i was paranoid the store would just kill them if i brought them back to petsmart. even though it sounds stupid i was trying to help them because i do care about them. that is how i got into the mess of rearranging the tank- i was doing some research and found out that my cory probably wanted a mate, and that i needed at least five versus just three hatchet fish. i’m desperately trying to find a way to put them all in happy situations, whether they stay in my tank or i give them away. thank you all for your help
It is generally not recommended to release pets, including fish into the wild. It creates all kinds of environmental problems. You should consider donating the fish to a classroom, nursing home, or office. My husband works in a nursing home and the residents and staff love the fish tank there, they take turns feeding them and the family members appreciate it as well. Sometimes pet stores will also take the fish and resell them for you.
Releasing fish into the wild can be dangerous for the fish, and if they do survive they can begin breeding and disrupt the natural ecosystem (very bad for the environment). Check out this website for more info.
