Having cycled 202 miles from coast to coast, was an eye-opener to reach the delightful seaside town of Whitby.
A tired group of cyclists were taken back by the beauty and the side of the modern cosmopolitan living by this, the jewel in Yorkshire. During our long journey we have had lucky to see some great scenery, taking in the scope of the North Yorkshire Moors, we saw some incredible landscapes.
With inspiration from the landscape, ran in Whitby in the third day of our coast to coast walk. When they finally reached the goal – Whitby Pier – were more than ready to refreshments. The Shambles was there to answer our prayers. As promised in the last cycle along the coast that got stuck in a real fine Yorkshire ale, a fine selection of the India Pale Ale, Stout and moonlight, an impressive and attractive prospect. We wasted no time in order in a round of local beer and soon stories ran as fast as the beer, a great night lay before us. Needless to say, after what some call a heady period of beer was tea time.
Whitby is a sea port known to many hundreds of years was clearly a place of tradition and nostalgia, offering up some of the best fish and chips available in the UK. However, the atmosphere at the modern European restaurants along the streets all the people were there appeal would have been a shame not been allowed in this classic British dish. We had a feast of the kings of fried cod and chips as many a drunken sailor and in fact tourism has made us.
Everyone Whitby visitis instantly falls for her charm. traditional look is just a cover for style cafes, bars and restaurants that are coined Betwen cobbled streets. Whitby could easily be mistaken for a cultural city streets on a European level. Whitby is a piece hidden history teacher in modern Britain.
Whitby in a remarkable feat has managed to combine the old with the new no trouble keeping the old guard happy in a family environment while attracting a new generation of visitors for the future. Whitby knows how to celebrate their past and present, with a series of shows are the envy of many a city in the UK, Whitby can attract the intrepid explorer and curious alike.
We were moved by the way it delivers an experience Whitby beach par excellence of English in a modern and youthful. I can not wait to get back.Even if just to sample the fantastic fish and chips, again! And so it was out. It's time to go home on our bikes, for a long trip past full of memories of a magical seaside town.
