Crappie Fishing Lures
Best bait or Lure for Crappie?
I am fishing in a lake for crappie and Bream mostly. Whats the best bait or lures to use for this type of fishing?
As far as the Crappie Fishing is concerned, the hands down best bait is live shiners. The best lure is what the experts use – They tight line a small lead head jig with a tube skirt in whatever color happens to be the hottest at the time, usually it is black and chartreuse. The larger schools of crappie are usually found in open water, suspended at different depths, depending on the bait fish and oxygen level, or just off the bottom. They will always be fishing two poles, one in each hand and will have at least 3 jigs tied on each line, and each jig having a different color. These are the serious guys that are nearly always successful in filling their ice chest. But personally I like to use a slip cork and cast by the trees and snags and pop it out by it. I’m like a kid, I just love to see the cork go under.
